A View of Village Culture

What happens when a single mother with several young children gets sick in the village? Who takes care of her? What happens when an elderly person needs more care than surrounding family members can give? Who can give this kind of additional help in a village setting like ours?
It seems that situations like these (along with other considerations I most likely know nothing about) have led some of the women in our village to band together and form a “Care Group” that can help share the burden that sickness can bring upon a family.
A few months ago, I was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of this new Care Group, known as the Bungeni Women’s Care Group.
