Those That Sit in Darkness

What of those that have never heard of Christ?

In hundreds, no, thousands of villages, hamlets, towns, and cities across this planet, there sit people just like you. Oh, they may look a little different—their skin might be a few shades lighter or darker than yours, their eyes might be shaped a little differently, their facial features may be more or less defined than your own—but, really, the differences are only skin deep. Inside, they are the same.

They laugh. They cry. They offend others. They get offended. They sin. Their conscience convicts them about their sin just like your conscience convicts you about your sin. It is very likely that they know something is wrong—with their heart and with their world—but they don’t know how to fix it. They don’t know what to do about it.

They don’t have a Bible they can go to to find out what is wrong. They don’t have anyone to explain to them what Jesus Christ has done for them.

Man in Darkness-3

These are the unreached peoples of this world—people just like you that have no Bible; people just like you that have no missionary to tell them of Jesus Christ. These people may have good physical eyesight, but they are blind. They stumble through life, groping…straining… stumbling…falling…headed towards a night in which no day will ever dawn—headed for eternal torment in hell.

If we could somehow speak to these people, I believe their cry would echo the cry of the man of Macedonia in the book of Acts—“Come over…and help us.”

Who will go and tell them of Jesus Christ?

Who will be willing to spend their life translating the words of Life into a language which has never before handled the very words of Almighty God?

Who Will Tell…those that sit in darkness?
